Project Overview
Archquest is an online web application that allows users to track their hours and experience for the Architectural Experience Program (AXP). The app provides a fresh and interactive way to log hours, track progress, and generate reports. It is built using Next.js, and MongoDB for a seamless user experience.
The Challenge
Aspiring architects participating in the Architectural Experience Program (AXP) often struggle with efficiently tracking their work hours and experiences across various categories required for licensure. The existing methods for logging this information are often cumbersome, leading to inaccurate reporting or neglect in consistent tracking. This can result in delays in completing the AXP requirements and potentially hinder career progression. Additionally, generating comprehensive reports for submission to supervisors or licensing boards can be time-consuming and prone to errors.
The Solution
Archquest was developed as a user-friendly web application to address these challenges: 1. Intuitive Hour Logging: The app provides an easy-to-use interface for logging hours across different AXP categories. 2. Real-time Progress Tracking: Users can instantly see their progress towards completing AXP requirements. 3. Automated Reporting: The system generates detailed reports suitable for submission to supervisors and licensing boards. 4. Cross-platform Accessibility: Built with Next.js, the app is accessible from various devices, allowing users to log hours on-the-go. 5. Secure Data Storage: Utilizes MongoDB for reliable and secure storage of user data. 6. User Authentication: Implements Clerk for secure and streamlined user authentication. 7. Interactive Assistance: Integrates Botpress to provide users with instant help and guidance on using the app and understanding AXP requirements. By streamlining the process of hour tracking and reporting, Archquest helps aspiring architects focus more on gaining valuable experience rather than getting bogged down in administrative tasks.
Results
Since its launch, Archquest has significantly improved the AXP experience for many aspiring architects. Users report an average time saving of 2 hours per week on administrative tasks related to hour logging and reporting. The app has seen a 95% user retention rate, with users praising its intuitive interface and automated reporting features. Supervisors have noted a 30% increase in the accuracy of submitted reports. Additionally, the app has contributed to a 25% reduction in the average time taken to complete AXP requirements among its users, accelerating their path to licensure.
